PEMERSON Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 I've recently had to switch computers at work, how can i get all my set ups, (map file), copied to my new computer? Quote
BIGAL Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 Do a search here for "new computers" "ARG", "profiles" lots of stuff about setting up a new computer, your question is to vauge, no menus ? directory problems ? more info than "Map file" Quote
PEMERSON Posted April 23, 2013 Author Posted April 23, 2013 I'm referring to my screen layout with all my buttons and settings, I'm trying to not have to spend half a day setting my new computer up to match the way my last one was. I believe the saved settings are under the extension .MAP Quote
Murph_map Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 I'm referring to my screen layout with all my buttons and settings, I'm trying to not have to spend half a day setting my new computer up to match the way my last one was. I believe the saved settings are under the extension .MAP You mean the Workspace and users profile. Look in the CUI for exporting/importing the workspace and in the options for the profiles and the .arg files. This might help http://docs.autodesk.com/ACD/2013/ENU/ Quote
ReMark Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 If we are talking about AutoCAD 2012 then I think you are mistaken about the file extension being .MAP. I believe we are talking about migrating your customizations aren't we? These can be for things like linetypes (ACAD.LIN), hatch patterns (ACAD.PAT), command aliases (ACAD.PGP), tool palettes (use the Export option - .ATC file), customized user interface (ACAD.CUIx), and profiles (.ARG file).
