VTI892 Posted April 29, 2013 Posted April 29, 2013 Hi guys, I’m struggling to change Acad for Acad MEP or Revit MEP. I have installed Acad MEP 2010, and have a lot of things to learn. My biggest problem so far is that I can’t find how to get the total pressure loss in a system. MEP displays the pressure loss for a component of the system but not for the hole system. Taking in account that I’m just beginning to learn the program, what would you recommend: stick with Acad or jump ship for Revit? Quote
tzframpton Posted April 29, 2013 Posted April 29, 2013 (edited) Go Revit if you can. It's the future of the design and engineering market. AutoCAD MEP hasn't seen any support or updates from Autodesk in awhile. If you/your company upgrades then be sure to purchase a Suite, so you can get both of them bundled "just in case", but I would put all my efforts into the Revit platform. VTI892 Posted May 2, 2013 Author Posted May 2, 2013 Thank you for advice. I am doing this for personal gain, I want to be more efficient. For now I still use Acad. So I would prefer to learn the most future proof platform, and the one which is best suited for HVAC, Piping, Electrical design Can Revit calculete the pressure loss for a system? can I import dwg files into Revit?
