Norwegian Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 I have never used AutoCAD to 3d modelling and is currently only using it to draw 2d picture such as plans and sections. What I was not aware of when I changed the UCS and WCS while drawing, was that some lines appears as Bottom, and some as topview.. Of course it would be optimal if all my lines and walls and doors was on topview. Because now, when I move objects to lines that are bottomview, the object I am moving dissapears... So everytime Im moving an object I have to turn off Snapmode. Is there a fast way to "flatten" or transform all my line to topview or the one and only WCS? Quote
ReMark Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 Wouldn't you be better off working in an isometric view so you can visualize your model better? Why are you using Snapmode in a 3D drawing? Are you familiar with the OSNAPZ system variable? Quote
Norwegian Posted May 12, 2013 Author Posted May 12, 2013 (edited) Yes, I would be probably better off working in 3d, but the drawing was supposed to be a flat 2d of plan and section. My mistake was changing UCS for drawing in an different angle, I THOUGHT. But now, half my picture is bottomviewed, and half correctly topview. I am not familiar with OSNAPZ? EDIT: Or it seems as some lines/walls/windows are drawn on semi bottomleft-, top-, bottomrightview. What I want is to allign them all as one topview Edited May 12, 2013 by Norwegian Quote
Norwegian Posted May 13, 2013 Author Posted May 13, 2013 Case solved. To those with the same problem: My classmate had a separate file named "flatten" which he dropped on my AutoCAD screen. This enabled or gave my AutoCAD the Flatten function. Then He flattened the whole picture. It would be advised to flatten bits and bits of your file if you have very much on it. It even corrected 3d objects such as walls.windows doors etc. Case closed. Quote
