Tyke
Does anybody know if its possible to export linetype definitions from a drawing into an AutoCAD *.LIN (eg MyLines.LIN) file. There is a DWG that we need to work on for a client and we will later need to create some new drawings but using the client's linetypes and it would help if we had a *.LIN file. I could make a copy of the drawing that already has the linetypes in it, delete everything, purge everything except the linetypes and save it and insert the "empty" block/drawing into a new drawing. It works, but my original question still stands.

Thanks eldon, I had already done several searches but not found anything. I've downloaded the LISP routines and will give them a try next week. eldon
As a linetype definition is part of the drawing, you should be able to extract the information straight from a DXF file. But better let the Lisp take the strain!
