Can someone please help?

I am not new to AutoCAD, but I am having a problem with 3D modelling. The problem is, when I click onto an icon, say, line or polyline, and then move the cursor over the model either in solid or wireframe, as the curser hits each line, it leaves a copy of the cursor on the line. The copy then disappears as the curser hits the next line and then leaves a copy there! Can anyone tell me why and how to fix it?

Thanks....

So, have you just taken up 3D or did you just upgrade versions? It sounds like the graphics controller is having a hard time keeping up with what you are doing. The other thing that could be causing this is a drawing that is larger than what you typically work on.

Can you give us more details on what may have changed when you started noticing this behavior?

Hi Glen,

Thanks for that. I’ve been doing 3D for about 6 months, I was doing some small things then I did a house, at that time it was ok. It’s only started doing it since it came back from a repair where all the software had to be reloaded back onto the computer. Now I’m doing another house, (big drawing again) and it started playing up.

Someone said it could be a driver, what do you think?

Thank you

It could very easily be a driver if your machine was just rebuilt. Try checking for the most current drivers for the graphics card. You also should check the AutoDesk website to be sure that the driver you are using is certified.

Try going to Tools - Options - System - Performance settings (at least that's where it is in 2010.) Click check for updates and see what AutoCAD wants to do.

ReMark may be along here soon, he seems to be the best at diagnosing machine problems - probably a natural affinity.

Thanks Glen

Done the Autodesk website. It looks like my Graphic Card is not certified, I’ve got a GeForce 7300LE, but it was working ok, that’s the thing.
