We are using Autocad 2010 and after a reboot, our customized toolbars and the ribbon change. Certain icons will change, the ribbon moves fromt he top of the screen to the side, etc. We do a reset but after another reboot, it still doesn't keep the settings. Also, during this period (after the toolbars change) it took 15 minutes to print two files. After the reset, they printed at a normal time. Help!

You need to make all your changes within the CUI so that they "stick". I've run into these problems before. You'll spend all this time setting up your interface without using the CUI but when you reboot AutoCAD the workspace will default back to the original configuration. Some things will stick, yes, but there are certain ones that won't.

type CUI at the command line, highlight the workspace you want to change, then on the right the button at the top that says "Customize Workspace" is what you want to go into for the correct way of setting up your workspace and making it "save". :)

We will certainly try your solution - Thank you. One thing though that I don't understand. The toolbars and the Ribbon stayed and then all of a sudden in the last couple days, after any reboot, we then lost those items. Why now instead of after initial installation of ACad?

I can't give you a direct answer, however I do know that you can control the toolbars and ribbon settings within the workspace which will never get corrupted, so it kinda fixes itself. :)

But trust me, we all here feel your pain. We've all dealt with weird AutoCAD interface issues and the mind of its own it has at times.

I added my toolbars to 2010 through the transfer tool in CUI. They show up in the list of toolbars, but I cannot add them on the screen. If you right click a toolbar (with CUI closed) and it shows the drop down list...my toolbars do not appear on there. I can customize them all I want but can't get them to show up. I have the "Default Display" set to "Add to workspaces" on them too. It shows a preview of it, so I have no idea what the hold up is.
