AutoCadGenius Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 Hello everyone, first i want to say thank you so far. This Forum has been very responsive and helpful! I have two questions: 1. Does AutoCad allow 3D objects to animate, or just the camera? 2. If I can't animate objects in AutoCad, would it be possible to output an AutoCad file to AfterEffects or Cinema 4D? 3. I want to be able to do Architectural 3D AND Graphic Arts 3D. Is there one software package that would make this easy and intuitive? I heard AutoCad artists are now starting to use Revit combined with 3D Max. As well as ArchiCad. So now I'm confused, should I stop learning AutoCad and focus on Revit/3D Max or ArchiCad? Please remember, i want to be able to do 3D logos and other graphics as well, not just Architect. Maybe its best to learn something like Cinema 4D for graphics and ArchiCad for Architectural drawings? Thanks million!!!s Quote
tzframpton Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 1. AutoCAD is not really built for Animation although people do find ways to do it. 2. AfterEffects, no. Cenema 4D, yes with a conversion I think. Could be wrong on both so double check. 3. Get the ultimate package here: http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/pc/index?id=16406616&siteID=123112 Quote

tzframpton Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 Yes if you go with at least the Premium suite. That gives you 3DS Max. As for logos, I would look for Adobe Suites instead. Illustrator would be the #1 choice for logo design, although Corel Draw would actually be a better alternative if you're going to be using CAD software. Quote
