vertical horizons Posted January 9, 2014 Share Posted January 9, 2014 What is the proper method to import Solidworks parts & assemblies to AutoCAD? I have tried saving the Solidworks file as an ACIS (.sat), then going to AutoCAD, & attempting to import that file, but that doesn't work. I searched the archives, but did not find a solution. (I didn't go through all of the "search pages". After page 4, I figured I wasn't going to find an answer there.) Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
JD Mather Posted January 9, 2014 Share Posted January 9, 2014 Later versions of AutoCAD will open *.sldprt and *.sldasm files directly (from 1 release earlier, ex AutoCAD 2014 will read SWx 2013 (but not SWx 2014)). Autodesk products with open ACIS (*.sat) files up to version 7 ACIS. In SolidWorks when saving as ACIS file type select Options and set down to v7 (ACIS is now up to something like v22).
