Guest Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 From time to time I am required to dimension 3-D objects as an x-ref to show people. To print out the drawings I need to have the viewports set to hidden. When I do this, my dimension styles change. (See attached image) The top dimension is inside the view port, set to hidden, and the lower dimension is in paperspace. The bottom dimension is proper. The upper dimension text is bold, and my arrow is outlined. Is there any way to fix this, or do I need to just dimension in paperspace? Quote
JerryG Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 Can you simply put your Vport on layer "defpoints" Then you wont have to set your veiwports to hidden? Quote
Guest Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 Sorry, I guess there is a misinterpretation here. From the command line: Command: MVIEW Specify corner of viewport or [ON/OFF/Fit/Shadeplot/Lock/Object/Polygonal/Restore/LAyer/2/3/4] : H Hidden line removal for plotting [ON/OFF]: ON This sets the view port to hide all objects in the viewport, so that you cannot see through your 3-D objects. This is used like the HIDE command in model space, but is for printing. Quote
hellnback Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 The problem is that the arrow in your dim is a solid, so it hides it. It also hides solid hatching and true type fonts but I'm sure there is a setting somewhere to get the text to plot correctly but not sure on the arrows. Quote
