windseaker Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 Try to draw auxiliary view on object, can anyone enlightment. Problem occures with (side 1,4,7,9). Trying to acheive True shape of this side. In drawing #3, I was able to connect some of it but got lost with drawing point 1# to 4#&9#, because of new perpendicular line is ( or maybe not) used for 1#?? Does drawing #2 look good for (side 1,2,8,9) ? AUX-EXAMPLE2.dwg Quote
ReMark Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 What is the source of your drawing? Is this a school assignment? Quote
SEANT Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 It does have a school assignment look to it. I have to say, though, there's serious doubt that the side 1,4,7,9 can be realized as a flat plane. Quote
tzframpton Posted January 8, 2009 Posted January 8, 2009 Anything that's called "Auxiliary View" is definitely a school assignment. That word was used in the 1950's drafting era. haha Quote
windseaker Posted January 8, 2009 Author Posted January 8, 2009 might be, its from a friend. But I thing he said its an example on a problem hes working on. I throught if you rotated the (side 1,4,7,9) to be astreight line and go perpenducular to it, then ?? well, what do you think? maybe, I'll try another post somewhere Quote
ReMark Posted January 8, 2009 Posted January 8, 2009 It's not a good idea to ask the same question in another area of the forum. Wouldn't it be easier to read all the responses in just one thread instead of multiple threads? Plus it makes keeping current with the "train of thought" more difficult when answers and follow-up questions are split between two posts. Quote
windseaker Posted January 9, 2009 Author Posted January 9, 2009 So, conforming to the answer is ,no. Side((side 1,4,7,9) is not drawable. And if so what should it look like? I now believe there could be two side involved that I am not seeing, or a transistion--?? Is there any old drawing monks out there?? (easy guys, just a joke) Quote
ReMark Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 Can you post an image of the source of this problem so we can see it for ourselves? Maybe something got lost in the translation. Quote
CADguy209 Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 I think this is the solution. My d.g. is a bit rusty so I might be wrong. Also I did notice that your initial drawing/views of the object had some errors. Some of the points didnt line up or were off a bit relative to each other, you had to zoom in on the points to see it though. aux view.dwg Quote
