Unmentioned Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 I am wondering how to make a coil on auto cad 2008. From what I can figure out is to extrude a circle or ellipse using a helix for the path. So far all I have gotten is a spiraling ribbon. I believe the problem is aligning the z-axis with the end of the helix. can anyone help? Quote
kencaz Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 Try SWEEP. Sometimes it will give you better results. KC Quote
Unmentioned Posted December 2, 2009 Author Posted December 2, 2009 ah thanks, that works great. Though I figured out my method, Sweep shall now be one of my most used comands Quote
mugshot Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 Helix command. Explode the helix or spiral created then draw the circle @ the end and extrude or sweep using the helix or coil. Quote
ReMark Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 I would not recommend exploding the helix. There's no need to. Quote
