dragonpace Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 All of the users here in this office are having a problem with the new Ribbon in Auto cad 2010. When you start up cad the Ribbon is accessible but the minute that you go to edit text the ribbon grays out and is not longer usable except for text editing. I have tried many of the tricks and down loaded the updates from Auto desk but to no avail. So anyone have the fix for this???? Quote
Cad64 Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 So you're saying the ribbon continues to be grayed out and unusable even after you are finished editing the text? I haven't heard of anyone else experiencing this problem, and it's strange that everyone in your office is having the same problem. Are you running Autocad from a Network Deployment in your office? Maybe you should run a Repair or Re-install Autocad. Quote
dragonpace Posted December 5, 2009 Author Posted December 5, 2009 Cad64 thank tried that. nothing. we did find out that taking aca and acad cui files have some kind of conflict with each other. If you remove one or the other the ribbon will work. On my computer the ribbon still effects the diolog box on the text editor but if I turn the ribbon off the dialog box works. very strange. I just work with out the ribbon. Quote
dragonpace Posted December 5, 2009 Author Posted December 5, 2009 I am pretty much done with the ribbon not seeing any advantage with it. I use hot key commands mostly. oh well. Can't teach old dogs to use the treadmill. Quote
97catintenn Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 I lost one of my window thingy's today in the ribbon, and never looked to reapply it. Just went on with the hotkeys. And cursed the program, screaming "You can't slow me down!!" Ah, love updates.... OP, have you tried different workspaces? You could always switch back to classic. Quote
