  1. For new drawings, is there a way to program Autocad to always load Xrefs relative? We pretty much use xrefs everywhere, and it seems like it would save a lot of time if I didn't have to open the External References and change each xref to relative. Also, if you have an existing drawing and need to change the xref from absolute to relative path, is there a way to have it automatically do that? I'm assuming there isn't, but thought I'd ask.
  2. How to avoid broken links to an Xref while migrating to a new server? We will migrate our servers and have to move all Xrefs. The Xrefs are composed from files located on different harddrives. Let's say A: / B: / C: When migrating to our new servers I suppose we are just fine when we name the new harddrives exactly the same as the current situation? Are there any other things we should take care of? Thanks!

    AutoCAD 2011 Xref's

Hi, I've recently upgraded from AutoCAD 2008 to AutoCAD 2011. I'm creating a drawing from scratch and attaching an xref that I also created. When I attached the xref, the layers from the attached drawing are present within the layer manager; all layers are on and not frozen. However, there is no trace of this in model space, zoom extents results in a blank screen; select all show's no grips of any obscure objects. I'm at a bit of a loss, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance Gman AutoCAD 2011 Windows XP Professional
