How do i make a spiral stair stringer in 3d? can you please me? what commands do i use?

Posted

well... i saw one a tutorial talk's about how to make a 3d spiral stair .. it was good ...

First.

made a Circle with a radias u want for the stair ,,,

Sec.

use Divide or div .. command to divide the circle equaly and the divide number depends on the stairs numbers u need ...

3rd.

After that use ray command from the center of the circle ...

4th.

use trim to cut the unneeded lines from ray.. then take a slice from the circle ..

5th.

Close the slice by pedit or region or bo commands ... and extrude it ... and this will be the main shape ..

6th.

copy the shape and past it ... and use align command to stick the stairs together... keep doing this till u have a spiral stair :)

i will try to put some pics to help to understand it ...

thnx ...

Search on here for the Helix.lsp. This will draw the spiral then you can use ARRAY or MEASURE to arrange the blocks of the stair treads around the spiral and EXTRUDE>Path to do the stringers. If you could post a pic of what you want or a sketch, I will try to do a Tutorial with pics when I have time.
