tonika Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 Hello, I wanted to know if I can create PDF with multiple pages from a AUTOCAD drawing with multiple layouts. I, somewhat, figured how to use the “publish” command. With publish I can save PDF of many layouts at once but the PDF pages are separate. After saving the PDF as separate pages I still have to compile them manually into a single PDF document with multiple pages. Does anyone know a more efficient way of saving .dwg as PDF? Quote
tzframpton Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 http://www.cadzation.com/acroplotpro_info.htm The holy grail of raster/vector output for AutoCAD. its worth every penny, the Pro version that is. Quote
tonika Posted May 4, 2009 Author Posted May 4, 2009 Does that mean that I can’t do it without second party software? This is a bummer . Quote
tzframpton Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 Well, you have to take it from Autodesk's perspective. You can do what you want using DWF output, which is in every way better than PDF. The only difference is the market chose PDF to be one of the few "standard" image files used in this industry. DWF is owned by Autodesk. PDF is owned by Adobe. Autodesk probably doesn't want to help Adobe out in adding to their market share of the vector output of CAD apps than they want to. They only recently added PDF output to the growing demand into AutoCAD, let alone a nice bundled package of "options" to go along with it. So until Autodesk decides to add the options, or a 3rd party freebie application comes along, no its not there yet. Quote
tonika Posted May 4, 2009 Author Posted May 4, 2009 Thank you. It looks like I am going to be doing it the old way. At least I know that there is no function/command that is hiding from me. Quote

tonika Posted May 4, 2009 Author Posted May 4, 2009 Yes. I have tried in different occasions with zero results. Quote
David Bethel Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 If you have full blown Distiller, look in runfilex.ps for instructions on how to combine post script files into a single pdf. I don't know if publish can make .ps or .eps files It took some time to figure how to automate the process but it was well worth the learning curve. -David Quote
