I am working in AutoCAD 2009, and wondered if it was possible to change to color of the layout tab like Excel can. I have a huge base map I am working with and one layout is in two reports. I wanted to color code it so that it stood out and reduced confusion.

Is it possible?

Fairly certain that's not a capability of anything I've found.

Ok. I would have thought something that simple would be included...oh well! I will just copy the layout and name it something else...

I have been waiting for this forever. Your right you would think something as basic as this would be already included. I usually ask the same question every 6 months.

Be careful what you ask for :D

As crappy as excel and most of the products from the evil empire are, I don't think I would want to mimic them.

Just think of all the cute bells and whistles we would have if MicroSoft was writing code for AutoCAD.

Also remember that the code would be locked down. We would not have a thriving 3rd party market like we do now.

I'm betting some enterprising code jockey could write the code to color the tabs and would, if he thought he could sell enough copies to justify the time it would take.

Full disclosure ...

I use Lotus 123 when I want to understand the results and have a graphically pleasing layout

I use Excel when I HAVE to send a spreadsheet to someone else ... begrudging ... and they are always little more than simple addition

I use WordPerfect when I want a word processor I can understand and control ...

I use Word when forced ... and then only after complaining a bit
