pvd Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 Hi all, I'm working in Autocad 2009 full, I've "polar tracking" ON, "Object snap", as well as "Object snap tracking" but still my polar tracking doesn't work. Anyone who knows how to resolve this problem? Thanks in advance! Quote
rkent Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 Since you don't say what is not working about it, I am guessing here, go into Options, Drafting Tab, check off the boxes in Auto Track Settings. Quote
pvd Posted May 5, 2009 Author Posted May 5, 2009 I've looked into Options - Drafting - Autotrack Settings and all boxes are checked, but no result. When drawing lines I cannot grab an endpoint and activate a polar tracking line. In other words in an attempt to draw a box I would normally draw 2 lines at a right angle then grab end points to quickly and precisely finish the box. As mentioned before I'm working in a full version. Thanks for help already so far! Quote

Then go back to Options, Drafting, and make sure Alignment Point Acquisition is set to Automatic. Or press shift when acquiring points. Quote
pvd Posted May 5, 2009 Author Posted May 5, 2009 It was the Alignment Point Acquisition in my Options that was set to "shift to acquire". Now it's set on Automatic, it seems to work again as I'm used to it. Thanks again! Quote
anishtain4 Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 I have this same problem and it didn't solved this way. When i have both polar and snap on they don't work together; assume I have drawn a horizontal line and I start for another line somewhere above this line, when the cursor is in a 135 degree I got the polar tracking but when the cursor is moving on the line where snap sticks it to the line polar tracking is not working, so I have to always pass the second line over the first and then trim it. that is so time consuming and inefficient. What should I do? Quote
nestly Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 Do you have the "Intersection" OSnap running? Quote
Tiger Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 If I have the Intersection OSnap running, then the Polar and the OSnap works together - you might even want the Apparent Intersection snap running. Quote

I just had this problem too and it was the alignment point acquisition that wasn't set to automatic. Does anyone know why or why this box changes on it's own? or is it just one of those things that just happens on it's own every once in a while? It hasn't happened to me before, but I want to know if there is anything I can do to avoid it happening again. Thanks! Quote
CADgirl Posted October 11, 2011 Posted October 11, 2011 Are you running any LISP or Add-ons? I am running some lisp routines. Quote
SLW210 Posted October 11, 2011 Posted October 11, 2011 I am running some lisp routines. Most likely one of them doesn't have error checking and if you cancelled out before the command executed variables do not get reset. Quote
