run2kdjhm Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 I have built a piston head a pin to to connect it to a conecting rod and the connecting rod. i have constrained all of them to the same axis. the connecting rod can rotate freely but i can still slide up and down along the pin. how do i prevent this sliding? i have the same problem with some other parts. simplified :a ring is constrained around i rod how to i constrain the ring so that i can still rotate it but it does not slide? any help would be appreciated thanks. JD Mather Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 Zip and attach the files here. If you have done the parts correclty you can simply add a Mate - Flush constraint between the Origin Workplanes (you did model with symmetry about the origin - right?). Quote
