Problems exporting file from SolidWorks

Recommended Posts

Hello All,

I am making a 3d model in solid works which is something like concentric circles which are then extruded along the axis of the circles.

When i make the image quality as high , i can see the circles as circles , they are concentric, one layer does not intersect the other.

When i save it as an iges file , the circles become polygons and then concentric layers now intersect with each other. The problem is still worst when i import this iges file in hyper mesh. The resolution is still worst.

I think the problem is due to the fact that the distance between the concentric circles is 0.044 in .

Does anyone know how to export the Solid works file to iges file preserving the resolution ( circles look like circles)

Thank you in advance

when you go File>Save as. Do you click on the button that says "options"

I think you can increase the resolutions of the iges file from there.
