When creating a block with attribute text and different visibility states i find that the text will no go with the visibility state.

Is this because of something that i am doing, or will it just not work?

( this is all in 2008 )

this has been covered before - I think it is to do with the "lock position" setting. Use the other state and try again. Please report back so we can all learn.

ahh, here is the last time I suggested this

but you can see I have no idea if it helped the poster.

when i went into the properties of the attribute text and locked the position it did not work once the block was in the drawing...

the block will show that there are different visibility states in the block editior but in the drawing it will only show one, the others just look the same as the first. there iso type text so its at the 30 degree mark and 0 etc. i cannot upload it to the forum cause its 300 and the max sice is 250...:glare:

sorry for the long awaited reply was out of town for a couple of days...i live in florida and was at daytona for the budwiser shootout and ARCA race...

you obviously know that mention of racing cars is the way to get 'round me. :D We got the shoot-out live yesterday - great last 3 laps!

There is another post near here where the same TAG name was used in all visibility states and that was confusing AutoCAD. The final active block had all attributes with Lock Position = yes and all attribute tags were unique.

don't forget to ATTSYNC the block after editing

Just wanted to confirm this.

I was having the same problem. My attributes were not changing properly when I switched visibility states; it would only show the attributes from the first state.

Locking the position of the attributes fixed this. Then I just added a move action so that they could be moved, and had no problems.

locking attributes is important. Once locked AutoCAD can keep track of where they are.
