How do I make a polyline ellipse which has a thickness. I mean it should be completely filled with no donut holes. I dont want fills which cannot be read in dxf files. The closest I have reached is making a polyline ellipse and the offsetting it and giving thickness. But this gives it a donut hole which I dont want.

I am using autocad 2005.

I was able to do the following by drawing an ellipse (while PELLIPSE=1), and then offsetting it inside until you can't offset anymore. The offset distance is tiny.

I tried the offset option. but i guess the ellipse does not have thickness. I want it to have thickness. basically i want it as .dxf file to make a photomask and i dont want the inside region of the ellipse to be transparent.

Does REGION work?

the region doesnt work as it makes the inside region of the ellipse transparent .i dont want it to be transparent to light . i want to use that in .dxf file to make photomask. so that the light doesnt pass through the inside of ellipse

It depends on the shade mode you use, and the view dirrection.

Anyway, maybe a solid hatch?

So what is wrong with what I posted? It's a filled ellipse.

As @rkmcswain said change your setvar PELLIPSE to 1 then you'll get the thickness.
