Interior Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 How do i create a box in 3d which is larger ariound the top than the bottom? if i extrude it will be straight how do i get it to tapper outwards? Quote
stevsmith Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 im not 2 sure if it would be a similar method as autocad. but would the loft feature help? Quote
JBullseye74 Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 If its like 2009 you do the box first - then extrude it. Then holding down your control Key select the edge you want to taper out. Then repeat the process for the other edges. Quote
Interior Posted May 11, 2009 Author Posted May 11, 2009 how does the tool work and were do you find it? thank you Quote
JBullseye74 Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 well just to make it simple i would just type extrude for now then select your box! do you not have any 3d experiance? Quote
stevsmith Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 this is a major quick tutorial. 1) set up your 3d view to SE isometric. 2) select draw, rectangle from the pulldown menu and draw square box 50,50mm wide. 3) copy the rectangle up 100mm and then offset the copied box by 12.5mm and erase the box u have copied up leaving the new offset square. 4) this will give you 2 squares, 1@50X50mm and 1@75X75mm sitting above each other by 100mm. 5) Type LOFT into the command line. select cross section only and select both squares. 6) hit enter and select close solid. 7) you should now have a box with a taper. papagyi Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 If you want to use with extrude why don't you use taper angle while your extrude command process. You must read "help". Loft is great but not for all acad version!...only 2007/8/9/10. Quote
