Area Command-variable

hello everybody,

I am using AUTOCAD 2007 and suddenly, one day, i opened a drawing and i discovered that area command does not work. When i type area, or aa, or inquiry->area it just prompts the value of area variable. When i type .area it works fine. I uninstalled and reinstalled it but it continues to do so.

I googled the problem but nothing. Does anybody have an idea of how to fix it?

Thanks in advance :glare:

My guess is the Area command has been undefined. Have you added anything to your startup applications or added any third party add-ons lately? You can use the Redefine command, but you'll need to find the root of the problem for a permanent fix.

It is true that using redefine area, it functions as it should be, but this has to be done everytime you open a drawing. Furthermore i am worried if something else is not working, that i haven't discovered yet. I don't know of any add-ons or startups to have been installed, but there are other people using my computer so...?

Is there any way to check what starts-up before autocad?

Thank you very much for the quich response lpseifert:)
