maiacad Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 Hye, I'm Mai....I do drafting service to my clients and I wish to lock all objects in my drawings while in preliminary stage, where my client can only view them, but could not edit, copy or whatsoever to the file. I've been asking this same question to another forum but the answer ["go to layer and select all layers, click the paddle lock, then it's locked"]......paddle lock is just temporary..... SOmeone help me:oops: Quote
Tiger Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 If you really just want the client to look at the design - send a PDF. There are programs availible that will lock your DWG, if you browse the Similar threads at the bottom of this page, you should find some references. Quote
maiacad Posted May 14, 2009 Author Posted May 14, 2009 thank you for your quick response. In which page that u said the similar threads can be found? Quote
Tiger Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 look at this very page, and scroll down to very bottom. Quote
Patrick Hughes Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 Another option would be to publish your drawing to DWF. I acn't say if this is abetter option than PDF but I figure since it is an Autodesk "standard" it may produce a higher fidelity result. Tiger, do you have a preference for PDF? If so why? Quote
Tiger Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 I prefer PDF over DWF simply because PDFs are much more common, even though I'm sure DWFs have a higher quality as you say. I'd rather get the drawing out to my client with a minimum of fuss, then spend time convincing him that DWF is a better option. Quote
