Hello,

Civil 3D 2009: I am trying to save a file and a pop up box appears with this sentence "one or more objects in this drawing cannot be saved to the specified format. the oparation was not completed and no file was created"

I have check if the file is read only, but it's not. What is the best way to handle this matter? By the way there is not even a ".bak" file!

is this a drawing you've created or one you've been sent by somebody else using different software?

just had the same problem. i ended up trying to make a copy of the drawing. it wouldnt save no matter what i did once i opened the original. when i tried to copy it, it said there wasnt enough room to copy it to the existing folder.

the project im working on has been going on for a while so the folder where the files are saved is rather huge. i went back and deleted some of the older recovery files and was able to save the copy. i am still not sure why this worked but it did.

I think if you do an "Audit" it will fix your problem.

Also try purging the drawing

First I would audit and purge the drawing then turn all your layers on and copy base all of your objects into a new drawing. Do the same for your page layouts if any. Hope this helps.

i saved the file in another location and it worked...everything else, purging, auditing, copying and creating another drawing would work. I even copied the linework and pasted it into a new drawing and it wouldn't work. As soon as I specified another space for the drawing to save it worked.
