mattd@acdsecurity.com Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 I just recently recieved a floorplan drawing from an architectural firm and when I tried to edit the floorplan it seems to be all as a block. So my problem is, when i explode that whole block, some of the lines disappear, as in my case, walls and doors. What can I do so when I explode the floorplan all original remain so that I can modify the drawing. Quote
GhostRider Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 when they disappear are they deleting or are they moved to the layer they were created or inserted to and just turned off? Quote
mattd@acdsecurity.com Posted May 18, 2009 Author Posted May 18, 2009 I Turned On All Layers Before I Exploded The Drawing. I Selected A Point On The Floor Plan, It Selected The Whole Floor Plan, I Hit The Explode Button And About 1/2 The Drawing Disappeared. I Even Tried To Regen The Drawing, Nothing. All Gone! Quote
chulse Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 Was the block created in a vertical program (like civil 3D or something)? Quote
mattd@acdsecurity.com Posted May 18, 2009 Author Posted May 18, 2009 Have No Idea, It Was Sent To Me As An Autocad Dwg. File. Quote
The Buzzard Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 Sounds like the drawing was made using third party software. You may be required to have an Object Enabler from Autodesk installed on your system. Then when the drawing is exploded you should be able to view the entire contents without problem. Sound like you need a Architectural OE . The Buzzard Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 The link I show is for an Object Enabler for AutoCAD 2005 based on the AutoCAD listed in your profile. Was not sure if your profile is upto date. Quote
The Buzzard Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 One last thing I forgot to mention. In Options under Open and Save you need to have Show Proxy Information dialog box checked so you will know which Object Enabler you need to install. Upon opening a drawing, A proxy dialog will appear and inform you that proxy objects have been found in the drawing. It will create a list and show you what software was used to make these objects.
