Since upgrading to autocad 2010 (student), my paper space units have been in inches instead of millimeters. After a google I found the command 'mvsetup' to change this, but it doesnt seem to work:

Command: mvsetup
Enter an option [Align/Create/Scale viewports/Options/Title block/Undo]: o
Enter an option [Layer/LImits/Units/Xref] <exit>: u
Enter paper space units type [Feet/Inches/MEters/Millimeters] <in>: m
Enter an option [Layer/LImits/Units/Xref] <exit>: u
Enter paper space units type [Feet/Inches/MEters/Millimeters] <mm>: [enter]
Enter an option [Layer/LImits/Units/Xref] <exit>: [enter]
Enter an option [Align/Create/Scale viewports/Options/Title block/Undo]: [enter]

Now as you can see I confirmed the units were set to mm, but my paperspace is still in inches. When I use the vmsetup command again it indeed has inches set.

Enter paper space units type [Feet/Inches/MEters/Millimeters] <in>:

Any idea how this could be solved?

Great site btw, have learned most of my autocad skills here.

Thank you Zorg. I think at 7k you get one free latte and they upgrade your key to the executve washroom to gold-plated.

Very helpful link ReMark, but doesn't mention inches within the paper space itself :(. It does cover paper sizes, but not paperspace.

I've had the same issue with both acadiso.dwt and a dutch government file I got from uni. Both seem to have the exact same issue. I'm using the DWG to PDF plotter included with AutoCAD, and it's set to use millimeters.

And grats on the amazing amount of posts.

Ignore what AutoCAD is telling you after setting units to millimeters via mvsetup. You're working in decimal units of 1 unit = 1 whatever-you-want-it-to-be. Prove it by going into Page Manager and checking the scales that are available.

7k+ posts just means I need to get a hobby. LOL
