MarcoW Posted May 20, 2009 Posted May 20, 2009 Hi there, My collegue comes across this problem: the drawing itself is "oke" but when this very drawing is xref'ed to another drawing it scales up 25.4 times. So the xref must be manually scaled down 1/25.5 (=0,03937007874015748031496062992126) and it works again. The factor 25.4 must be the inch / mm relation I guess... But wher does this go wrong? Is it a systemvariable that is not set right on his computer? Or is there another explanation? I'm quite aware of the program Acad2007 but this one I can't explain. Thanks for the help! Oh yeah... it is not allways this way, just this very drawing and maybe 1 or 2 others... The rest is no prob. Quote
Dipali Posted May 20, 2009 Posted May 20, 2009 check this options>user preference>insertion scale> source content unit & target drawing units. Quote
MarcoW Posted May 20, 2009 Author Posted May 20, 2009 Hi dipali, While I was writing this reply...: Checked it and both are "millimeters". My guess is that "once there was a drawing" that was set up by an architect in inches. Instead of fixing the problem we have done the thing with scale / rescale and so on. This particular drawng was then copied to another project because of its contents, like dimscales, plotter propperties, and most iportant several layouts. When copied all is copied, also the "bad" measurements... AT ONCE I HAD AN IDEA !!! Check the images below (wiped out our customers info): It has to do with Block Units, it should be at all times unitless and factor 1 for we work only in mm. But I can't alter it in that specific dialog box. So I wonder, is this a drawingspecific unit? And if Yes, where to modify the whole thing. I am very close !! A little help... Quote
Dipali Posted May 20, 2009 Posted May 20, 2009 That Thing U Can Chnage Type 'insunits' At Command Line & Change It To 4 For Mm Quote
MarcoW Posted May 20, 2009 Author Posted May 20, 2009 Dipali... we thank thy so BIG time ! Is the insunts variable drawingspecific ? If Yes then I wil make a new function wich will be applied when starting up acad: (setvar "insunits" 4). Of course it must be saved then, but okay. In that case I can be shure it is always correct. Tiger Posted May 20, 2009 Posted May 20, 2009 The "once there was a drawing" is a common problem...I tell my collegues over and over again never to use a drawing from the client, always always always start a new one using the template and insert/xref the clients drawing into it. A wonder how many problems can be avoided that way. Just saying you're not alone and yep, INSUNITS is drawingspecific. Quote
fuccaro Posted May 20, 2009 Posted May 20, 2009 The MEASUREMENT sysvar can show if a drawing is in imperial or in decimal units. Also the MEASUREINIT tells how the units in new drawings will be set. Quote
