dinarele Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 Hi, all, I've created titleblock templates for different drawing sizes. I have the problem inserting 2 different sizes of templates into the same drawing. For example, if firstly i insert the A1 landscape titleblock template (which comes up ok) and then after i want to insert the second layout template which would be A1 portrait, it comes up like this: I have the A1 portrait orientated layout with the titleblock of previously inserted layout (landscape titleblock). I don't know how to correct this. Is it some kind of autocad setting which i need to set up? Quote
JoeC Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 A couple of questions to clarify how you are doing this: 1 - Do the 2 title blocks have the same name, or are they in a block state and just rotated, resized and named differently? If so you may need to explode them, purge, and save in your block directory with different block names. (In your case I would assume that the landscape was inserted first, so the portrait assumes the landscape orientation because they are both the same block). 2- Are you inserting these title blocks in paper space on separate layout tabs or in model space? dinarele Posted May 22, 2009 Author Posted May 22, 2009 Both title blocks are in different drawing templates. Both blocks are not related with each other, but i called the blocks the same name 'Title block A1', though the drawing templates are called differently. And i'm inserting them in paper space, as they are created in paper space and just for paper space purpose. I've tried to change the names of the blocks, but for some reason, i can't just change them, I need to explode them and then all the order of attributes are messed, so it takes long time to do this. Maybe i should also change the attribute tags and prompts? Quote
JoeC Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 Try this: Insert the first title block (title block A1), then type RENAME at the command line. Select title block A1, and rename it to title block A1L (for landscape). Next, insert the other title block with the original name. If they both insert correctly now, then you do have a conflict with the same block in both title setups. One other question...what do you mean when you say "template"? Have you created 2 different .dwt files or are you referring to your title border/title block setup as a template? Finally, you can work through the order of the attibutes with the BEDIT AND BATTORDER commands. Quote
dinarele Posted May 27, 2009 Author Posted May 27, 2009 Thank you very very much. That fixed it. For some reason, i thought, that I renamed it in the template, but it didn't save the change, that's why it was still coming up the same. And by saying 'template', I meant 2 different .dwt files. thanks for your help:) Quote
