drimades Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 Is there any tool that helps to calculate loads of the buildings? How can I calculate structures, materials, etc. from an Autocad file? Is there any other tool for some kind of structural engineering? Quote
PS_Port Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 Is there any tool that helps to calculate loads of the buildings? Yep it's called an Engineer drimades, Autocad and including Revit are not structural analysis packages. There are some packages that have tried to combine the 2 fields, such as Strucad, Microstran, STAAD. google turns up a lot. If you have to work out the dead loads from an autocad drawing, then it has to be done the old fashion way.....measure and calculate. But still this won't give you the loads on the structure because it doesn't include the live loads, wind, seismic etc. Paul. Quote
