view ports

I have to create irregular shaed viewports during my work. Currently

I use 'Clip Existing Viewport' command and draw a boundry around the area that I want to display in my viewport. Is is possible to offset that area ( a polyline ) and then use that new polyline obtained after

offsetting as a viewport. This way I will not need to draw a boundry around the area that I want to display inside my viewport.

i don't not know if this is what you after.

but to have irregullar shape of viewport, i normally draw that shape on the paper space and go to view -> viewports -> Object and select the shape, this will change the object into viewport. and lets say you want to want make it bigger you can pedit -> edit -> insert points.

hope this is what you are after, if it is not, then i am sorry.
