criehle Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 I having a problem opening drawings. Usually when you go to the file drop down and select open a box comes up and you can navigate to the drawing you want to open. Instead of letting me navigate to the drawing I want its asking me to enter the file name on the command line. Its doing the same thing when I want to save the drawing. Instead of letting me navigate to where I want to save my drawing its asking me to enter in the name and location on the command line. It wasn't doing this before and I don't know what I changed. How do I change it back and what could possibly be wrong with the settings?I'm using AutoCAD Map 2009 Quote
chelsea1307 Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 set FILEDIA to 1 (at least for autocad not sure for Map) Quote
ReMark Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 Try setting FILEDIA to the value 1. Does that fix it? Dang. Beat out by the young lass. Quote
criehle Posted June 4, 2009 Author Posted June 4, 2009 That was an easy fix, Thanks guys. What is FILEDIA? Quote
ReMark Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 It controls the display of file navigation dialog boxes. The setting "0" will suppress dialog boxes. Thus our advice to reset the system variable to 1. Quote
chelsea1307 Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 checking F1 was for the op, more people should learn how to use it! Quote
ReMark Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 I couldn't agree with you more. I think most new users either don't know Help is available or they do not know how to use it. Quote
chelsea1307 Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 or they think it is like some programs help and absolutely useless Quote
