This should be easy but I'm struggling.

I need to extract a small area (1 room) from a huge site drawing. I need to import it into another piece of software.

What the easiest way of doing this ?

I've tried putting a polyline around it and deleting/clipping outside of it, but this seems very hit and miss.

Any help gratefully appreciated.

Have you tried using the EXTRIM command?

Tell me more.... not one I've used before. :)

..(and it would appear, not one that my copy of AC2007 recognises)

EXTRIM Extended trim command.

Type it at the command line. I think it is part of Express Tools.

From the Express Tools FAQ:

EXTRIM

"Trims all objects at the cutting edge specified by a selected Polyline, Line, Circle, Arc, Ellipse, Text, mtext, or Attribute Definition."

It might also be listed as EXCLIP under the Modify category of Express Tools. I'm trying to recall this off the top of my head at the moment so I might be slightly off. Heck, I'm more than slightly off all the time! LOL
