spidercad Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 Hello I've been given the arduous task of updating all of our site plans (hundreds of buildings on several different campuses) to use annotative text/blocks. I'm not that crash hot on the annotative function to begin with & I'm in the midst of my research now. My querry is what would be the best/most efficient way to systematically go through many drawings updating all the text/blocks/hatch to make use of the new annotative function. I've started with the text & have found out you can set the annotative function through the text style and update the drawing using the ANNOUPDATE command. But I'm wondering how do I set several different scale representations with this method, without having to modify each block of text individually? Am I on the right path guys? Any advice will be greatly appreciated. (using autocad 2010) Quote
spidercad Posted June 23, 2009 Author Posted June 23, 2009 Since there has been no replies I'll begin to answer my own questions. If there is a quicker, more efficient way to do things, please let me know. It's quite easy to isolate text with the isolate layer command & I have been changing text to annotative through this option rather then through the text style & ANNOUPDATE, purely because ANNOUPDATE seems to reset the rotation of objects updated (for me anyway) The major & most time consuming issue is having to re-position all the different text for the different scales set. If anyone knows a more simpler way around this, I would be very thankful. Blocks & Attributes are relatively easy and sometimes I can get away with using ATTSYNC to sync all my attributes. Any tips & shortcuts would be appreciated Quote
