Hello, I was wondering if there's a plugin that will auto draw polylines over an attached image.

In my line of work I have to import a lot of city areas into autocad in order to rearrange the space in that area of the city, so I have to import satellite images into autocad and go over the lines via polyline.

This is a very time consuming job and I was wondering if there's a plugin that can do all my manual work for me or at least make it easier.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much.

Here's a screenshot of what I'm actually talking about in case I have failed to describe my problem properly.

Welcome to the forum Kate.

If you can't get a copy of the applications that Cad64 suggested maybe you could try some raster to vector tehniques such as using the "live trace" command in Adobe Illustrator. But if the underlay is not perfect and i know it is not, the vectorised solution is not going to be clean, consisting of closed polylines. There's going to be a lot of cleaning involved, joining polylines wich basicaly is the same as manualy going over them.I could be wrong though, but if you do find a workaround please share.

Поздрав.

If your drawing the same city maps all the time then you want to get the city street maps from somewhere they would have the cadastre but not images. We do this every day.

Here in Aus we have state run mapping suppliers so you can buy digital data satellite and line maps.
