I'm modifying some attribute properties, only making the text Annotative. This works fine, but when I go to sync all the similar attributes using ATTSYNC, all the text disappear from all the attributes in the drawing. In fact, the attributes disappear altogether.

I never quite got my head around annotative text (not a problem here as we don't use viewports) but are you sure it is disappearing at all annotative scales?

Lucky you

Definitely is disappearing. Checked various annotative scales with no results, but that shouldn't really matter as my Annotation visibility is set to all scales. Also zoomed extents to check maybe they just blew up to a huge size, but came up with nothing.

Also forgot to mention the attributes seem to be apart of a block. Maybe autocad just can't ATTSYNC block attributes.

ATTRIBUTES ARE part of a block. Without being incorporated into a block they are just bits of text that can't have spaces!

Yep, i had this problem after exploding a clients drawings blocks. I think theres an express tool that will convert undefined attributes to normal text. If not, then i would just use BURST on a block and it will convert its attributes to text as well as explode the block.

My bad, they are apart of the block..

I think I should be able to sync all my block attributes with BATTMAN command but I have no idea how to. Cheers for the BURST heads up, hopefully it won't come to that.

Here's a few of the blocks. I've changed some to annotative, but the majority are standard.

Thanks guys

Have you had exclusive control over this block or has it been all around the office? What you have here (on the block I tested - MH-Storm) is typical of what happens when somebody accidentally(?) deletes an attribute from a block and doesn't ATTSYNC/BATTMAN it afterwards. When that happens all future insertions of the block will not have attributes while existing and copies of existing blocks will.

Can you check another drawing with these blocks to see if they insert correctly?

It's been around quite a bit. I will look around to see if the block is in other drawings, although it's doubtful.

Thanks for your time dbroada
