heypal Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 Is there a trick to importing AutoCad geometry to a Microsoft Word document?? When we attempt it, we simply use the copy/paste method. The result in Word is undersirable because there is a large portion of blank screen shown around the graphics. There has to be a better way. We use AutoCad 2000. Thanks, Pal Quote
chelsea1307 Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 you could try a print screen and paste, you lose scale though Quote
mdbdesign Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 Change model space background to white (temporary) and copy and paste after. Than crop picture. Quote

eldon Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 Have you tried exporting a WMF file? when inserted to Word, you can Ungroup the drawing and then apply a line thickness. The one thing to watch out for is the background colour of the WMF file. If you set the system varable WMFBKGND to off, then it goes into Word nicely. Quote
JD Mather Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 You can have multiple line thickness displayed directly from copy and past from the dwg into Word. The key is after copy into Word double click on the embedded "image" in Word. This will open the Word version of the geometry in AutoCAD. Set as desired and close the file. You will be prompted to accept the changes. In later releases you do not need to change the background from black to white. Quote
