Hello,

I am having trouble making this dynamic block. Before i use the scale parameter everything is great. When i scale it however, the rotation grip moves all over the place. This prevents me from accurately placing the pointer line. If anyone can help out with this it would save a bunch of my sanity.

Thanks!

Hi Ryan,

The problem is that your action doesn't line up with the parameter, so the parameter is moving by 30° each time you scale as per the position of the action. The simplest solution I could find was to enter BE and rotate the action 60° about the centre of the square. This did however end up with a strange effect on the vertical positioning of the rotate parameter. I'll have more of a look later.

I wanted to check, all other parameters work as you want them to? I didn't know if the line was the only thing to rotate, and whether the stretch actions were specific to only the line also?

Hope this helps for now.

Only the line should rotate around the square. I want to be able to stretch the line from both sides.

In Block editor I double clicked the "Scale" action and "removed" the Angle Parameter. I think that worked.

You can also add increments to you're angle parameter so they're always 90 degrees. And maybe turn off one grip on the Distance1.

I think you can also make it so the Rotate action always stays centred on the line. Might need another distance parameter or a linked Move action.

awesome thanks man. that worked well. I still cant figure out how to keep the rotation grip on the midpoint of the line and the i would like the scale grip to be fixed to a corner. if anyone knows how to do this it would help me out alot. thanks!

move the scale action and Distance1 parameter down to the corner. Keep playing around with it, things will make more sense how they work with time. Or search for tutorials.
