russkey Posted June 27, 2009 Posted June 27, 2009 Sorry if this is the wrong forum for this. I'm running AutoCAD 2010 under Windows XP in VMWare Fusion for the Mac. Got an up to date macbook pro. Everything works very nicely when I use the built in trackpad. For some reason, when I plug in an external usb mouse and am using the selection cursor (not the pan hand cursor, mind, only the selection cursor) the mouse tracking becomes very slow. When using the trackpad, everything becomes a bit faster. I've been looking to see if there's a setting which increases the precision of the cursor in selection mode, but I can't find anything. Any ideas? Thanks! Quote
Clarence Williams Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 Did you ever get a reply or figure out a fix to this issue? I just upgraded to Snow Leopard on my MacBookPro, which meant I had to upgrade to Fusion2. The result was my mouse moves slowly inside autoCAD files. This occurs only in the drawing itself, not the toolbars. At my wits end. Quote
russkey Posted November 20, 2009 Author Posted November 20, 2009 no, still have the problem. hoping somebody will be able to suggest a solution at some point though. Quote
Clarence Williams Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 Don't know if this helps, but... Where Fusion displays its "Full Screen" icon, you can also select "Unity". If you choose this, the slow mouse problem goes away but then snaps become sticky so its not a real solution. Escape "Unity" the same way you escape "Full Screen". To me this indicates its an issue with VMware. Are you running Fusion 2? Maybe we should try asking the VMware people. Quote
Clarence Williams Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 Skip my last post. In your virtual machine go to "Fusion VMware" in the upper left corner. Select it, then select "Preferences" then look for "Gaming" and choose "Never optimize mouse for gaming" .This cleared the problem for me. Hope it works for you. Quote
Sizer Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 Must be honest I just got a Macbook Pro and was using Parallels, while it did work i reinstalled using boot camp finding it much better. I know the Mac can handle it but it does it so much better when dedicated to just the one OS. Quote
