gbradley Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 Is there a similar command to: Drawing: Export View… from Mechanical Desktop? I want to Export a single View from Inventor to a DXF [AutoCad R12/LT2 DXF (*.dxf)] I notice that the Save Export has the CAD Format grayed out. My guess is that I have to do a Save As; Save Copy As. Thanks for any suggestions. IV10 Quote
JD Mather Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 You will have to do Save Copy As for an idw to dxf. There are other options when in the Sheet Metal environment where you can right click on a face, flat or browser node in ipt. Quote
gbradley Posted June 29, 2009 Author Posted June 29, 2009 Thanks for your help. The thing is, I can do a Save As, but when I try and open the exported dxf file with an older version of AutoCADLT I get a [DXF read error on line 1023] Sometimes the error is because of a Font or Linetype that I don't have loaded.??? In MDT I can Export just the view, and only the view. By saving the view only, without any text or dimensions I can open up the DXF without any errors. I wonder if IV10 has the option of Exporting a View only? Thanks Quote
jfgoodhew1 Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 Hi, I want to export my IDW to DXF (I'm aware it's called "Save Copy As"). It has detail views in it, that are useful to the machinist. For some reason these don't export - any help? I'm using the Full Scale - Model Space export options, into AutoCAD 2010 DXF. Quote
