Hi Guys,

Its me again. Hope everythings fine out there. Well, I do have a query and hope that, again you can extend your knowledge to us newbie.

I have created an assembly of a frame work for another project and we do have a similar drawings in PDF from our previous designer. The AI file was nowhere to be found:x. Please see below the images.

#1 Drawn in AI 2009

#2 In PDF, exploded assembly in Isometric View

How can I do this? Is there a short cut to do it, or do I have to create an assembly and move the objects away from each other.

Once again thank you in advance.

Thanks & Regards,

File New --> Create a new IPN (Presentation File) and from there you can do a Manual (recommended) or automatic explosion of the parts in your assembly. You can use a command called Tweak Components to get some real nice explosions based on your own criteria for movement of the parts. If you want to take it a step further you can also animate the assembly although this is usually an ancillary part of the IPN environment and Inventor Studio is better suited for higher impact animations.

See some examples of that here: http://rand.com/imaginit/1/rss/viewitem.asp?feedid=BLOGS_MFG_ALL&guid=520
