\\shorty// Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 I am looking for a result that when i draw a line from one point to another the line would include an arrow head at the midpoint. I am using lt2004 so no LISP. The method im using at the min is: 1. draw the line from point to point. 2. draw a polyline from the midpoint of the line at the same angle. 3. change the start segment width property of the polyline to make it look like an arrow. This is a pain staking process when im creating a sewer network with 100s - 1000s of nodes and direction of flow arrows. Could anyone point me in the right direction of an easier way? Ive tried the arrow block route, but still is a long process of having to snap the block to the line and then rotating it and never rotates exactly onto the line. Thanks Quote
ReMark Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 The arrow will rotate exactly to the line if you use Osnaps. One at the midpoint and the other at an end point (normally the end in the direction of the flow). Quote
eldon Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 Ive tried the arrow block route, but still is a long process of having to snap the block to the line and then rotating it and never rotates exactly onto the line. Turn Polar on and in settings choose the Polar Angle measurement set to Relative to last segment. When inserting blocks using Near or Endpoint snaps to a line, then the rotation angle snaps exactly to the line. Makes things a bit easier Quote

Maybe, if you could use command AL (ALIGN) in combination with midpoint osnap, life could be a little bit easier. Quote

\\shorty// Posted July 2, 2009 Author Posted July 2, 2009 if i could persuade my boss into buying a later version of CAD than lt2004, would it have or enable me to create a linetype which would have direction of flow arrows at the midpoint? thanks Quote
