kindergartenchats Posted July 6, 2009 Posted July 6, 2009 Hi All, Would anyone happen to know how to print an AutoCAD PLT file directly to a plotter? I am using Autocad 2006 on Windows XP and have a Socket PCMCIA serial adapter connected to a null modem cable - which is connected to an HP 7475A pen plotter. I am using a Roland driver and have this set to COM4 on the serial adapter. I have tried plotting the drawing to the plotter directly from AutoCAD but unfortunately only a the first few lines print before the plotter stalls - no error messages are given. As I understand this might have something to do with how Windows XP allocates memory and it has been suggested that I try sending the plot directly to the printer from a plot file. I am not sure how to go about this as my first attempts to send as a PLT file have been unsuccessful. Many thanks in advance for the help! Quote
lpseifert Posted July 6, 2009 Posted July 6, 2009 http://www.cadtutor.net/forum/showthread.php?t=28070 be aware that the plotter you send the .plt file to should be the same plotter that the .plt file was created to plot to (driver). Quote
