ccbrs_jason Posted July 7, 2009 Posted July 7, 2009 Yet another problem. So I found how to retrieve my missing Properties Tool Bar that went missing using the "CUI" command (that rocks by the way), but sadly it is not showing anything now. I have it docked on the right side of my workspace and when I have nothing selected it says "No selection" in the drop down menu, with the 3 selection icons next to it. That is normal or at least I think it is. What is NOT normal is when I select any object, line or dimension the only thing that changes with the entire toolbar is the drop down box goes blank. none of the potions come up at all. Can you wonderful folks help out a nOOb again?!!! Thanks! PS - I have included pics of the toolbar with nothing selected and then with the dimension line selected. Quote
lpseifert Posted July 7, 2009 Posted July 7, 2009 Two possibilities come to mind... Is Pickfirst set to 1? Have you run a registry cleaner lately? If so you may need to do a repair of the installation Quote
rkmcswain Posted July 8, 2009 Posted July 8, 2009 Have you run a registry cleaner lately? Yep - a registry "cleaner" is usually to blame for this.... Quote
Tankman Posted July 8, 2009 Posted July 8, 2009 Gave up using registry "destroyers". When I had both AutoCAD '05 and '07 (full versions) on the same PC, all the "destroyer" did was create problems. I was using Nortons' product. Beware! Quote
Car5858 Posted July 8, 2009 Posted July 8, 2009 I also have had this same problem. It was the McAfee registry cleaner causing the problem. You will have to do a repair of the AutoCAD installation to correct the problem. Make sure you turn of the registry clearners options. Quote
ccbrs_jason Posted July 9, 2009 Author Posted July 9, 2009 Well the Repair Install worked. Just fyi ... cleaning the registry did not work for me. Thank you so much for the help everyone! Quote
ReMark Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 What program "cleaned your clock" (Registry speaking of course)? Quote
Car5858 Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 Glad that solved the problem. If the problem comes back you will have to find out what program is changing the registry. Quote
ReMark Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 I had a problem once with Norton Systemworks cleaning my Registry "errors". After it knocked out AutoCAD once I never used that feature again. I went back to using just the AV program and not the "suite". Quote
ccbrs_jason Posted July 9, 2009 Author Posted July 9, 2009 What program "cleaned your clock" (Registry speaking of course)? Eusing Free Registry Cleaner is the one I used. It found 966 Errors! Side note .....Can't stand Norton! Quote
ReMark Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 Free Registry Cleaner is the actual name of the program? Thanks. I'll be sure to stay far away from that one. I still use the old standby RegClean from the programmers at Microsoft. My OS is XP Pro. It makes a backup copy that can be used to restore the Registry in case there is a problem. Quote
