rkoog Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 I am using AutoCAD 2004 and have drawn a cube 4ft x 4ft using the box command. I am simply trying to taper a face 15 percent. It does not work but if I open a new drawing, it does work. Any ideas? Quote
ReMark Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 The taper did not work in the original drawing but works in a new drawing. What did you do differently? Quote
rkoog Posted July 10, 2009 Author Posted July 10, 2009 As far as the taper, I did not do anything differently. It must be something in the drawing. Quote
ReMark Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 Are you able to repeat the error intentionally? Quote
rkoog Posted July 10, 2009 Author Posted July 10, 2009 Yes, I have tried drawing different size boxes and different angles and after trying the taper the command line just says, "[Extrude/Move/Rotate/Offset/Taper..... Quote
rkoog Posted July 10, 2009 Author Posted July 10, 2009 I tried it again this morning. It works fine in the drawing I'm currently working in but not in the one that is giving me trouble. Quote
ReMark Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 Sorry but I can't think of a setting that might affect it. Major brain freeze. Quote
rkoog Posted July 10, 2009 Author Posted July 10, 2009 The message I was getting is "No solution for a vertex". I failed to put that in the description of the problem. I found an answer, but not sure I like it. The answer is to move the model closer to 0,0. I tried it and it worked. Maybe someone has a better answer. I don't like having to move the model. Quote
nocturne00 Posted July 11, 2009 Posted July 11, 2009 ever tried moving the UCS itself closer to the model? so the coordinates 0,0,0 will be tied closer to your model Quote
rkoog Posted July 13, 2009 Author Posted July 13, 2009 I did try moving the UCS origin and it did not help. The only thing I could do was change to the Word UCS and move the model closer to 0,0,0. Quote
