Has anyone got an idea as to where i can go to get copies of blocks of these bolts?

2D or 3D? Hasn't this question come up in the past?

Draw 1 bolt as a bolt, detail is always in proportion to its diameter then just copy and scale maybe draw a bolt 1 unit in diameter easier to scale.

Yes this has come up before search the web for ISO standard Nuts & bolts found the following in Bolting of steel structures Australian Institute of Steel Construction

dia Width flats Height head

M16 24 10.5

M20 30 13.9

M24 36 14.1 etc

width of flats is 1.5 dia

Hey Skip, try these.

It's not all of the fasteners you require. It's just the most common 1's I use.

Thanks for the responses,

This'll help alot. Sorry forgot had been asked before.

Only reason I asked, is i formatted my portable drive with my

block library on by mistake. :( (Don't ask how - vista took over! :x

and did what it thought i wanted it to do and not what was after!)

I'm assuming you need metric right?

Sure, I am seeking for metric. Thanks in advance

Don't thank me yet as I have yet to give you anything. All I am doing is obtaining further detailed information at the moment.

CADTutor is an AutoCAD Help site and not a repository for 2D/3D blocks like the CAD Block Exchange Network. If a forum member has created content they want to share with others that's entirely up to them.

At the moment I'm at a loss to remember if CT has what you are looking for. One of us will have to do a search of the site. I'll let you take the initiative to do that while I finish up a drawing. I'll be back shortly. Post your results (good, bad, indifferent) here.

One other possible source would be the AUGI website. I know that the site has a section just for Dynamic blocks. Membership in AUGI is free.

I am new to this Forum. Thanks for the comments.

You're entirely welcomed.

Click on the link below. You'll be taken to the website of Cadalyst magazine's CAD Tips section. The link is to a lisp program called fast.lsp that creates 2D and 3D fasteners in Imperial or Metric units. You might find it useful. I have not used it so I cannot tell you how well it works. That's up to you to decide.

ReMark,

Thanks for finding that lsp routine.. I haven't had a bolt lsp routine that creates 3D. Dimensions look good. No more downloading individual bolt files
