OS map, OSLO, Norway

Hi all,

I'm basing my final year project in Oslo, Norway. I need to get hold of an OS map or equivelant info in drawing file. Looking particularly at Bjorvika Harbour, and as much as possible. Can help me out? Thanks.

We had to do this for our final project this year as well. We have an organization that looks after parks and waterfront etc. and they were the ones that were able to provide us with the cad map. I would try an organization like that or even the city hall.

Ordnance survey maps cannot be downloaded from approved government websites?

They can, but this can be quite costly.

I don't think the names I used would help you since I am near Ottawa, Canada. But maybe if you speak with others in your class. Surely you are not the only one who needs this map. If its really expensive, maybe you can all chip in together or something.

How detailed does the map have to be? Could it be a raster image instead?

Two more ideas.

 

One. University of Oslo. There is a GIS Club there. See if you can contact someone there. Maybe they can help you.

 

Two. Google Earth. Isn't there a 3D city model of Oslo?

well, i have done a bit of digging...and it seems the 3d buildings in google earth cannot be exported.. probably due to copy rights. and there seems to be no other user 'imports' to download. allthough I did find small samples through SketchUp.

 

However, there was something about exporting it through obj file into rhino... still looking into that...

As a neighbour, and I'm sorry I didn't see this thread sooner, I have to say that what you are asking for is not something that come cheap or for free anywhere that I know of. I order these kind of DWGs as part of my work and while they are mostly very good, it is also quite expensive.
