JMeredith50 Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 Hi guys, I'm having two problems using Autocad 2010. I'll try and explain the issues in as much detail as possible, along with whatever I've tried to do to fix them. 1. Saving to a previous version. The drawing I'm working on was originally created with Autocad 2007 and needs to be reopened in 2007. However, when I try to save as Autocad 2007/2007 LT I recieve an error message saying there are custom object specific to 2010 and that I need object enablers installed in order to save as a previous file type. I was directed to the enablers download screen where there are about 10 enablers to choose from. How do I know which to install? When the error message pops up it doesn't tell me specifically which items are custom to 2010, only that certain ones are. Once I've installed the correct enabler will I need to do anything to either delete these objects or make them accessable in Autocad 2007? Also, will my client need to install object enablers in order to open the file in 2007? 2. Viewports I'm trying to create a viewport for my drawing and the only thing displayed in this viewport are doorways and bathroom fixtures (toilets, sinks, etc). I've looked through all the layers in my drawing and I have everything turned on and printable/plottable but none of these layers are coming through on the viewport. I'm really lost on this one! Here are pictures of my viewport and layer properties if they help: Thanks for whatever help you can offer! I've searched around on the forum and found people with similar problems, but no conclusive answers unfortunately. I hope these aren't problems that have been answered over and over again. -John edit: Ok, just downloaded Autodesk Trueview to try and convert the files back to 2007 filetypes. Thanks FAQ! haha, should have looked there at the start! Hopefully this works Quote
Geoffers Posted July 16, 2009 Posted July 16, 2009 I think the point about visibilty might be to do with how these items are set up in 'display'. (Not having acad open i can't remember the proper terms.) I found this yesterday. I wanted to do a very simple line drawing of a flat all on layer 0 - ok. Then used, unusually for me, built in tool for 'note with arrow'. This of course came in on its own layer. but through my viewport I could not make the note and arrow appear - although it is there in model space. In the end I moved them to my 'text' layer, so ok. I must investigate what I think is the reason as mentioned above - unless there is another factor...?? Quote
