angekap Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 hi, i have a problem i created a titleblock size A4 and made this a template for future uses, then i tryed to insert it in layout space and it doesn´t show up,,,,please help me Quote
bonehead411 Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 Have you used the Page Set up Manager and set your layout to accomodate an A4 border? Or this could be an insertion point problem. What happens when you ZOOM > EXTENTS or ALL in Layout? What do you see? Quote
ReMark Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 This is a titleblock and border or just a titleblock? And you do it full size? Quote
ReMark Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 Typically one creates a template with all that is required, opens the template via File > New then saves the template (using Save As) under a new filename with the .dwg extension. Quote
angekap Posted July 22, 2009 Author Posted July 22, 2009 hi , according to what you say i guess i didn´t create my template right , what i did was just draw an A4 then save it as a template. later i tryed to insert it using right click on the layout and then from template, but nothing show up on the layout space created. how can i use the Page Set up Manager and set your layout to accomodate an A4 border? also i tryied to zoom extend on the layout space and still don´t show nothing ,,,,,,,, Quote
lulumara Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 When you draw your border and title block in it your insertion point should be 0,0 . So eveytime you insert a block or a template it right away insert in the right place even you insert it in layout or paperspace. Quote
dinarele Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 Do you have any layers in your drawing named the same as in the template? If yes, are they turned on? Page set up manager: make sure that in your template the paper size is A4, the scale is 1:1 and the units are 1 to 1... Quote
angekap Posted July 23, 2009 Author Posted July 23, 2009 i don´t have any layers all my titleblock is in layer 0 , i din´t incert my titleblock anywhere i just draw it, i guess i have to incert it directly on the paper space, but is difficult to incert in perfect point,,,well thanks guys !! Quote
ReMark Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 Maybe I was unclear. Make a TEMPLATE that includes your TITLEBLOCK and BORDER. Use the FILE > NEW command to open this template. Then use the SAVE AS option to save it as a new drawing file (dwg). In your template create separate layers for the linework and for the text. Don't put everything on layer 0 as that is not a recommended practice. Load any linetypes and fonts that you would like to have available to you immediately upon using the template so you do not have to repeat all these steps each and every time you start a new drawing. OK? Quote
