Coosbaylumber Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 I seem to have inherited a position from another person who was using R-2008. Due to bad pinky on left hand, I often misspell certain words, typing in "teh" instead of "the" is the most common. Whoever, was using this R before me had indicated in the spell checker that TEH was a word, and so it often gets overlooked. How do I go back and omit and correct the mis-spelled (now OK) word, bleep out TEH so that when spell checker finds it it zooms an error message to me? One boy genious here mentioned look for a certain file with a certain extension. That file don't exist on this computer. How do I fix this then? Wm. Quote
lpseifert Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 Look in Options > Files > Text Editor, Dictionary, Font File Names > Custom Dictionary File. You can edit this file as a text file (e.g. Notepad). Quote
Coosbaylumber Posted July 23, 2009 Author Posted July 23, 2009 Look in Options > Files > Text Editor, Dictionary, Font File Names > Custom Dictionary File. You can edit this file as a text file (e.g. Notepad). I have tried that route (many times). Get message that there is no special file with words inside it made up, would I like to create one? No. Spell checker seems to be overlooking a number of miss-spelled words. If special file is created (as per above) it makes up a xxx.ckr file name. Is that the file I ought to be looking for or is there another one available to me in Wordpad? Wm. Quote
